Team Popovitch Ft Lauderdale Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Center Belt Ceremony 12/10/2010
With so many students receiving their new belts, especially the higher rankings such as purple, brown and black, just goes to show the high level of instruction and training atmosphere we have is among the best in the world! The night was highlighted with Vagner Rocha and Joao Moncaio both receiving the first stripe on their black belt. Well deserved!

Joao came up huge at the Miami Open, completely dominating Nova Uniao instructor Marcelo Meleiro and taking gold at his weight, and Vagner was relentless at the ADCC North American Trials submitting 4 out of 5 opponents and earning his spot at the 2011 ADCC.
In addition to that 4 students earned their new rank as a black belt! Fred Moncaio, Paulo Kraush, Shannon Stiles, and the Master’s first female black belt, Michelle Ziegler! There were also 11 brown belts, 15 purple belts, 5 blue belts and 11 green belts giving out as well.
Taking a step back to December 4th, 2010, after his complete destruction at the ADCC trials, Vagner returned triumphant and surprised AJ Sousa with his new purple belt.
Once again it did not come without hard work. 6 others received their purple belts along with 5 receiving blue belts and 11 receiving green belts. Congratulations to all the students who got promoted and I know you all will accomplish great things this coming year!
