The AcademyIt was 13 years ago when the first Popovitch Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Center was open to teach the most effective form of self defense in the world, Gracie Jiu-Jitsu now commonly referred as "Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or BJJ" has been proven to be the most realistic form or hand to hand combat. After training intensively with the Gracie family (Rolles Gracie, Carlson Gracie, Rillion Gracie, Renzo Gracie,Crolin Gracie, Carlos Gracie), Jorge Popovitch along with his son Pablo Popovitch decided that it was time to bring Gracie/Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to South Florida, that's when the first Popovitch center was open in 1995. Being one of the first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy's in the USA, the Popovitch Academy is known for its long tradition of making students into well rounded individuals that can defend themselves in real street situations and for making students Champions in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Competition. After 13 years of success what started with one Academy now turned into a 4 Location and growing Jiu-Jitsu Team, we are proud to have 2 location in Florida (Pembroke Pines and Ft. Lauderdale) ,one in Louville KE and our last location is on Cleveland Ohio. |
